..or is it just me?

This week has flown past quite fast. I've been working as a project manager in my group. The whole point is to act like a real design company with a client. Today my group and I wrote a contract and a time / budget estimation for our client. Tomorrow and next week will be all about the design (finally!). I've even talked myself into doing a short motiondesign thing, too. So even me - the project manager will get the hands dirty.
The photo series of today is showing a part from the students' kitchen at Hyper Island, that red poster makes me laugh every time I see it, I can definitely relate to it. So I thought I'd share it with you.
What's more, I've updated my "about" page, today.

Tomorrow is Friday and "role the hat" time will be very welcomed by me in the evening.
Cheerios,
Gee.

Freshh’

Wihay, the new module rocks. We had a cool workshop today, where the assignment was to take a good smell from a nasty stinking bag of dead fish and after that write down the first word that comes up in mind together with a little color scheme. After that confusing moment we got a new assignment - to produce a CD cover based on what we just experienced.

So when I felt the nasty smell (though I am sick and can't barely feel any smell), my first words were literally "What the fuck?!" and the colors I imagined were black, blue and gray.

You see the result above, a "New Yorkish" underground hip-hop mixtape (hard to predict, if you know me, huh?)
Anyways, exiting module. More on that later.

Hola,
GregMackk.

Chill time

So the Concept and development module (course) is over. It was a wonderful experience to develop and present a business concept and the feedback from the judging group was very positive. It all wrapped up with a mingle party at Britny a web/design agency and later on we took of to Spy Bar of all places. The people there were great, unfortunately all my prejudices about the snobbish area of Stureplan were proven to be right (regarding the guards). Anyways, great experience. Huge big up for my group!

Otherwise, I'm done with my mini painting and feel really tired after this module.
I do really look forward to the next course called Visual Communication starting on Monday.

Have a good one.
/Greg.

Finishin´up

Today was the last training day before the big presentation tomorrow. My group printed our concept books and trained all the lines before tomorrow. Me and Andreas got so hyped up about the laser printer while getting our book done so we stayed over the evening and printed some of our own illustrations on the luxurious paper. Pretty good stuff. Those sneakers you see on the photo were supposed to be printed ages ago, but I never did, so it felt awesome to finally do it.

One cool thing is that I am getting more and more famous :) A norwegian online magazine posted an article about Hyper Island's recruitment tour with a photo of me taken by a fantastic photographer called Ina. Check it out.

That's all for today.
Cheers.

´ello!

The week at Hyper ended with two deadlines. My group managed to deliver all things in time and after that, we had a blast on both Friday and Saturday at the Hyper Mansion. So today I spent a bunch of hours skating at Fryshuset, felt like the right thing to do after that all beer-drinking. Later on, this evening, I decided to continue on a canvas that I started painting on, a while ago and that´s pretty much my Sunday.

We have an important presentation for a couple investors scheduled this Wednesday, I am pretty nervous about that, but hey - that´s next week's stuff, until that:
Good night.

Greg.

Chill deluxe

After a bunch of intensive days with business plans and budget calculations I really felt a drive for some boost to keep me motivated. So I spontaneously decided to take a skate session this evening after school. I met up with my buddy Alex and we started our session at a parking garage in St:Eriksplan. After 30 minutes a stupid security guard showed up with a barking dog in his car and kicked us out. That was kind of unusual, because nobody has ever been kicked out of that spot.

Anyways we decided to take a dinner and a walk downtown to shoot some pictures.
That was great, to just walk around, talk some crap and take a couple of photos.

When we finally came to Sergels Torg we realized that we could just skate outdoors, the ground was dry, not so much people around because of the time and It was a blast. I felt like I owned this beautiful city. This evening turned out to be exactly what I needed and man do I love night walks, nowadays. :)

Check out more photos on my Flickr.
That's pretty much it.
Looking forward to the weekend.

One thing though, if you haven't heard Cut Copy's track "Hearts on fire", DOO IT! I have probably listened to it 300 times, just this week and I can't get tired of it.

New week

New week has started. Still lots of stuff to do (as usual) regarding our business concept. I have an administrator responsibility in my group, which is new for me. That is quite okay, actually. I do stuff like research and I am getting better at it, not that I couldn't do it before but I've developed a "quicker" eye when looking for specific context.
It is about a week left before our big presentation for investors and other bank-people.

The autumn season has taken over. Rain, cold and fog - not my favorite time, I must say.
I am planning on taking  my skateboard over to Hyper, so I can get some energy in the evenings, otherwise I feel totally tired and slow as soon as it gets dark outside.

That's pretty much it, for now.

Take it easy,
gRainMack

Not so sunny day.

Tomorrow, we have a deadline for turning in our business plan. We've divided it in parts and I am sitting here writing this stuff and hating myself for not doing it earlier. This weekend has really been filled with all kinds of stuff, like loads of beer, laughter, shutter shades, stupid actions, drama and anxiety. Probably not what I was looking forward to, but it was worthwhile anyways.

Looking forward to get some real sleep.

Foggy day

This day started out with a visit from Caj Malmros. He was invited to Hyper in order to inspire us and he sure did. He talked about his previous accomplishments as an entrepreneur and a marketing guy. Very interesting and inspiring. One funny quote, when he explained how hard it was to ask for permits and money from diverse sources he said "people like lawyers and county administrators have tons of red folders behind their desks and it says NO on every one of them".
The day continued with some effective group work, we have finally found our brilliant business concept. And afterwards our own "wiz" Max had a workshop/lecture in color theory, quite impressive.

By the way the photo of the day is my man Daniel, I originally wanted a picture of our wonderful lecturer but I couldn't find any decent one, so Daniel worked the timing perfectly when I stood with a camera in my hands. Jada Jada.

Stay fresh.

Managin’

One of Hyper Island's directions for us students is to learn ourselves to get out of our comfort zone. My groups manager Fred took his first step today, when nobody wanted to interrupt Roger's important meeting in the room that we've booked earlier. Look at Fred's expression when his is going away from the accomplished mission. :)
