Tech crunch & more.
The Experience Technology module has really kicked in today. We started out with some research of the new technology by watching a long youtube playlist together in groups. The assignment after that was to develop a concept inspired by what we saw online and a tagline ("All hat, no cattle"). So together in my group, we came up with a funky fresh dancefloor concept. The idea is that the music in the clubs develops depending on how many people there are dancing and what moves they do. Max was kind enough to visualize our idea:

So that's our idea without going into technical stuff.
Another thing. I stumbled upon a new motion graphics contest. The brief is to basically to produce a short music video for a "hip hop opera" group (no idea of what that genre it is) called The Nobody Hole. If judging a book by it's cover, it looks pretty dull, but I guess it depends on what you do about it. Anyways here is the link: http://www.thenobodyhole.com/ if you are interested.

Update 2.0
So here you go, after going over tons of codes I introduce you my new, messy layout. I have proved myself that CSS is definitely my weakest side. I give up, I let this wide and dull layout stay like that for a while. I figured that I should focus on upcoming module instead of being obsessed about my silly blog page.
Update
Hey folks!
As you have probably noticed, I've changed my blog platform. There are still a lot of things to fix, but the main idea is already there.
Other news: A sexy new module has been introduced to us. The name is Experience technology and the name speaks for it's self. The time schedule for it seems a bit tight, so I can imagine a number of long nights.
Stay fresh.

Fearless

I am not so much of an obsessive consumer when it comes to expensive digital SLR cameras and fancy gear, I mean, I've got a Nikon D70s that's starting to age, but I am totally happy with it.
So when I heard that Nikon is going to release a D90 model that would be able to shoot video I laughed and thought: "Due! who's gonna shoot video with a still photo camera, how stupid is that?" And that was it, until I came across Stu Maschwitz´ blog entry regarding Canon's new SLRs that shoot video, too. He linked a sample movie, shot with only SLR cameras.
My jaw hit the ground when I saw how brutally good the quality of the film was. It hit me - 720p, 24fps HD video in your SLR cam, isn't it the coolest thing in the world? (besides my custom designed "Gregmack" fatcap, of course)
You can see the sample movie right here. (Trust me, you want to see this)

So, my point is that the Nikon D90 would totally complete my need of tools. Imagine how impressive stuff you can do, how this will effect the quality of all motion graphics and generally filmmaking, when you can use photo lenses when shooting video. And the best of all is that the price for all this enjoyment isn't bad at all.
So, now you know what I want for channuka.
I'll keep dreaming.
Good night.
Workshoppin’

More specifically, we had to come up with a concept for an empty and huge piece of land in northen Brazil. The delivery had look like a frontcover of a magazine and the photo above shows my groups result. Our concept was to build an "ecosociety" with a huge focus on education. My role besides brainstorming and idea generating was to visualize our concept in 3D. I had about 30-40 minutes to model a more or less a city, while the rest of my crew wrote the content, layed out the cover and searched for quotes. I must say that I am quite satisfied with our accomplishment.
Off topic.
I was recently interviewed by a local suburban online newspapper where I grew up.

That's all for now.

Here are some of the highlights:

Woooa Wow, GO! DM10 GO!!!
That would be it.
Portfolio time
Besides that I have done a short animation that I mentioned before.

Anywho, check out my work and be sure to comment!
Totally Monday

The "Comunication skills" module is in full throttle here at Hyper Island. The assignment for this week is to make a "needs research" regarding our personal portfolios. Besides that I've been trying to get a grip in javascript with Kristofer's help and that went kind of slow, I realized that I am just too dull to understand that kind of coding, but hey, I got the whole time in the world, right?
The screenshot above is from today's accomplishment in compositing. Those cool and flashy wires are made in 3ds Max and then composed together with a real life footage plate. This reel isn't finishid yet, but it's shaping out beautyfully, don't you think?
Stay Fresh, it's just Monday.
